The galvanic isolator VDI-32 internally consists of two diodes which are connected in anti-parallel manner. When connected in this way, the diodes will allow current in both directions, but only over a certain voltage.
The galvanic insulator prevents electrolytic corrosion. It blocks low-voltage DC currents entering your boat via the ground cable on the landscape cable. These currents can cause corrosion on the underwater metals of the boat, such as the hull, propellers, shaft and so on.
