No voltage loss
The Cyrix -i 400 amp battery separator loop is a microprocessor-controlled relay that automatically connects batteries in parallel when the battery has reached a preset voltage (indicating that the battery is charging), and interrupts when the voltage drops below the floating level (stating that one or both batteries are being discharged). Cyrix battery killer gel is an excellent replacement for diode insulators. The main feature is that there is almost no voltage loss so that the output voltage of generators or battery chargers does not need to be increased.
Priority to start battery
In a typical setup the generator is directly connected to the starter battery. The accessory battery, and possibly a bow thruster and other batteries are each connected to the starter battery at Cyrix battery combiners. When a Cyrix detects that the starter battery has reached its connect voltage it will engage to allow for parallel charging of the other batteries.
Two way voltage measurement
Cyrix senses voltage on both connected batteries. It will therefore also connect if, for example, the extra battery is charged by a battery charger.
Intelligent battery monitoring to prevent repeated shifts
The Cyrix-120 software means more than just connecting and disconnecting, based on battery voltage and with a fixed time delay. Cyrix-i looks at the general trend (voltage increasing or decreasing), and offsets a previous action if the trend has reversed over a certain period of time. The time delay depends on the voltage deviation from the norm. Four different connect / interrupt profiles can be selected to meet the requirements.
